To keep our drivers, customers and the public safe — and to meet Australian law — some items can't be sent through Kargo. This list is a guide, not a complete catalogue; if you're unsure about an item, check with us before booking.

Dangerous goods

Regulated under the Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code:

  • Explosives, fireworks and ammunition
  • Compressed gases & aerosols
  • Flammable liquids and solids (fuels, solvents, matches)
  • Oxidisers and organic peroxides
  • Toxic, infectious or radioactive substances
  • Corrosives such as acids and alkalis
  • Loose, damaged or recalled lithium batteries

Illegal & restricted

  • Illicit drugs and related paraphernalia
  • Weapons, firearms, parts and ammunition
  • Stolen, counterfeit or fraudulent goods
  • Tobacco, vapes and alcohol without required compliance
  • Prescription medicines without lawful authority
  • Anything otherwise illegal to possess or transport

Live & perishable

  • Live animals or insects
  • Human or animal remains
  • Perishable food without suitable packaging
  • Biological or medical samples without approved handling

High-value & sensitive

Accepted only by prior arrangement, and may not be covered for loss:

  • Cash, currency and negotiable instruments
  • Bullion, precious metals and loose gemstones
  • Jewellery or items above any stated value limit
  • Irreplaceable or one-of-a-kind items
